The Earth Special Investigations Unit is an elite group of peace keeping agents that work toward making sure that humans are good citizens of the universe. They have different divisions that specialize in different areas of investigation. The organization was started to deal with some sex trafficking using alien outposts as hiding places. Since then, they have expanded to investigate not only sex trafficking, but drug trafficking, organized crime issues, as well as dealing with high profile cases that require the utmost care. The ESIU is well respected in the Galactic Council, and it was founded not long after humans expanded into the universe. The Galactic Council, while magnanimous and willing to work with humans, has a healthy degree of suspicion regarding them considering some of the issues that have arose. The creation of ESIU has gone a long way to gaining their trust, though.
