Planets
Letheon Rex
Type: Gas giant
Atmosphere: Hydrogen–helium dominant, dense storm bands
Native Life: Yes (unknown to all outsiders)
Significance: Central energy source for the Letheon Black system
Status: Mined extensively by the Octarion Syndicate
Description
Letheon Rex is the massive gas giant around which the entire Letheon Black system revolves. Its gravity anchors the orbits of all terraformed moons, each hosting a different sub‑human population engineered by the Syndicate.
The upper atmosphere is a swirl of gold, white, and amber cloud bands, constantly shifting under the influence of powerful jet streams and electrical storms. Deep atmospheric layers contain metallic hydrogen, making the planet a prime source of high‑density energy.
Hazards
Extreme atmospheric pressure
Lightning storms thousands of kilometers long
Jet streams capable of tearing apart mining skimmers
Radiation belts around the equator
Sudden turbulence events (unexplained by human science)
Mining rigs must be reinforced to withstand crushing pressure zones and unpredictable storm surges.
Energy Mining
Letheon Rex is the primary energy source for the entire system.
Extraction Methods
Atmospheric skimmers collect volatile gases
Deep‑drop rigs harvest metallic hydrogen
Orbital refineries convert raw gases into fusion fuel and industrial reactants
Uses
Powering terraforming systems on the moons
Fuel for Syndicate ships
Energy for cybernetic and experimental facilities
Moons
Letheon Rex has numerous terraformed moons, each hosting a distinct sub‑human population:
Letheion – The scientific colony that first inhabited the system. Axiom-Theta has an earth-like atmosphere, though no life other than plant life. The colony has a large compound where only the scientists are permitted, and the regular people live around it, almost like a ring. The citizens are poor, kept underfed, and used for experimentation when the scientists decide to do so.
Tartessa – Humans who have had their blood and body altered with metals. They live short lifespans because the metal reduces their lives. They are capable of reproduction, but children don’t often survive. The planet is a hot, humid planet of lush jungles and large land predators, forcing the humans to live in tree houses linked by walking paths.
Vesperyne – Humans who have had their DNA fused with various animals, leaving them with highly animal-like mentality, instincts, and reproduction. This moon is largely desert, with some areas frozen and some reaching scorching temperatures. These people have built a civilization carved into the cliffs facing the lone river on the planet, learning ways to survive despite the scarcity of the moon.
Remoria – Humans who were altered by organic technology, replacing organs and limbs with cybernetics that grow. They may reproduce, but infants must be helped to survive due to the necessary cybernetic implants. This moon is a frozen tundra farther away from the warmth of the twin suns. They have built massive domes thanks to the scientifically minded in their number. Also, they are able to grow food and ranch animals that were left with them.
Aphesis – Humans who were given strength and size enhancements; however, intelligence declined in most subjects, making them almost barbaric. Their skin became greenish, and their jaws protruded, leaving humans to call them “orcs.” This moon has mostly plains and grasslands where the nomadic civilization follows great herds of massive bovine beasts, which are their main food source.
Lielia – Humans who were altered to give them extra limbs, eyes, and other features. They may or may not survive beyond infancy, depending on the alterations to their bodies. This moon has extreme frozen poles and at the equator has a small belt of habitable temperate forest where these people live.
These moons form the core of the Syndicate’s experimental empire.
Native Life (Secret)
Deep within the lower atmosphere of Letheon Rex lives a sapient gas‑dwelling species unknown to the Syndicate or any human civilization.
Biology
Non‑corporeal, cloud‑like forms
Composed of ionized gases and electromagnetic structures
Perceive the world through pressure waves, chemical gradients, and magnetic fields
Communicate via electromagnetic pulses and harmonic vibrations
Behavior
Collective intelligence rather than individual minds
Curious but cautious
View mining rigs as “metal storms” intruding into their world
Occasionally redirect atmospheric currents to avoid harm
Have no concept of solid matter or biological organisms
Significance
If discovered, this species would become one of the most important xenobiological findings in human history. Their existence explains:
sudden turbulence
unexplained atmospheric anomalies
occasional mining rig failures
But for now, they remain completely undetected.
Ecliphae (Dark Pleasure Planet)
Type: Terraformed terrestrial
Atmosphere: Earth‑like, artificially regulated
Native Life: None (all flora and fauna are imported or engineered)
Significance: Center of extreme decadence, exploitation, and Syndicate vice industries
Status: Fully controlled by the Octarion Syndicate
Description
Ecliphae is a terraformed world designed explicitly for indulgence, spectacle, and exploitation. The planet’s surface is dominated by engineered forests surrounding a massive central complex, creating a controlled wilderness used for Syndicate entertainment and predatory “live hunts.”
The Syndicate markets Ecliphae as a pleasure world, but beneath the façade lies a network of facilities dedicated to coercion, modification, and human suffering.
Hazards
Dense forests engineered to confuse and trap victims
Hidden fences and containment zones
Syndicate patrols and automated security

High risk of abduction for off‑world visitors
Ecliphae is considered one of the most dangerous inhabited worlds in the Letheon Black system.
Major Facilities
Ecliphae’s central complex contains:
Pleasure Districts
Brothels (both consensual and coerced)
Performance halls
Sensory‑alteration chambers
Gambling Arenas
High‑stakes games where “life” is the wager
Syndicate‑run betting rings
Combat pits
Modification Clinics
Body‑alteration centers
Genetic modification labs
Pain/pleasure clinics

These facilities are interconnected by underground transit tunnels, allowing rapid movement of clients, staff, and victims.
Engineered Forest Belt
Surrounding the central complex is a vast, artificially grown forest designed for Syndicate entertainment.
Features
Dense, maze‑like growth patterns
Hidden fences and containment fields
Controlled wildlife populations
Surveillance woven into the canopy
Purpose
The forest serves as the arena for live hunts, where elite Syndicate members pursue victims for sport. The terrain is intentionally disorienting, ensuring escape is nearly impossible.
Native Life
None. Ecliphae has no indigenous flora or fauna. All life present on the planet is:
imported
genetically engineered
or artificially cultivated
The Syndicate maintains strict control over all biological systems to ensure the environment supports their industries.
Significance
Ecliphae is infamous across the system as:
the most decadent world in the known universe
a hub of Syndicate wealth and corruption
a destination for those seeking extreme experiences
a site of human trafficking, exploitation, and illegal modification
a symbol of the Syndicate’s absolute power
Its existence is widely known, but its true nature is understood only by those who have seen it firsthand and survived.
Moons
Lethkaris (Slaver’s Moon)
Type: Terraformed terrestrial
Atmosphere: Breathable, artificially regulated
Native Life: None (all life imported or engineered)
Significance: Base of operations for slavers operating throughout the Vesperion Black system
Description
Lethkaris is a heavily industrialized moon whose surface is dominated by a massive slaver complex. Nearly all livable terrain has been converted into holding facilities, transport hubs, and processing centers. The terraforming is functional but minimal, designed only to support the workforce and maintain the infrastructure.
Hazards
High security zones
Automated perimeter defenses
Restricted access regions
Frequent transport traffic
Status
Fully controlled by slaver factions; no civilian population.
Asphodelis
Type: Rocky moon
Atmosphere: Extremely thin, non‑breathable
Native Life: None
Significance: Uninhabited; used occasionally for low‑risk flyovers or sensor calibration
Description
Asphodelis is a barren, quiet moon with a thin, unstable atmosphere. Its surface is a mix of dust plains and exposed rock, with no terraforming and no permanent structures. The moon’s isolation and lack of resources make it largely ignored by the Syndicate and other factions.
Hazards
Vacuum exposure
Extreme temperature swings
Micrometeorite activity
Status
Uninhabited and unused, except for occasional scientific or navigational purposes.
Mnemos
Type: Terraformed subterranean moon
Atmosphere: Surface atmosphere thin and desolate; stable underground
Native Life: None (all life confined to underground habitats)
Significance: Secretive underground complex used only by select individuals
Description
Mnemos appears uninhabitable from orbit — a dead, desolate surface with a thin atmosphere and no visible signs of life. Beneath this façade lies an extensive terraformed underground environment, complete with controlled air, water, and artificial ecosystems. The subterranean complex is accessible only to a privileged few, and its purpose is kept tightly concealed.
Hazards
Surface vacuum conditions
Hidden entrances
Deep subterranean tunnels
High security access points
Status
Restricted moon; underground facilities are active but secretive.
Anarkhos
Type: Rogue terrestrial planet
Atmosphere: Variable; shifts between storm‑ridden and frozen depending on position
Native Life: None
Significance: Unpredictable rogue planet whose passage disrupts entire systems
Description
Anarkhos is a rogue planet that drifts through the system on a ten‑year cycle, crossing the orbits of other worlds with no stable trajectory. Its gravitational pull is disruptive, often causing orbital shifts, tidal anomalies, and electromagnetic disturbances. When Anarkhos swings close to the twin suns, its atmosphere erupts into violent storms; when it drifts outward, the surface freezes into jagged crystalline plains.
Hazards
Unpredictable orbital path
System‑wide gravitational disruption
Extreme storm activity near the suns
Deep freeze conditions in the outer drift
Sudden environmental shifts
Status
No permanent settlements. Only temporary research stations operate here, and all must evacuate before Anarkhos changes course again.
Lethemera
Type: Oceanic planet
Atmosphere: Thick, humid, storm‑forming
Native Life: Yes. Abundant marine life; deep‑ocean species unknown.
Significance: Major oceanic biosphere; believed to hide undiscovered abyssal life
Description
Lethemera is a vast oceanic planet covered entirely by constantly moving seas. Its surface teems with marine life of every shape and size, forming one of the richest aquatic ecosystems in the known systems. No intelligent species have been discovered, but the planet’s deepest regions remain unexplored.
The world’s tectonic activity creates shifting trenches, rising underwater mountain ranges, and abyssal zones capable of swallowing entire expeditions. These ever‑changing formations make long‑term research extremely dangerous.
Hazards
Violent ocean storms
Shifting tectonic plates
Deep trenches that collapse or migrate
Crushing abyssal pressure
Unstable underwater terrain
Native Life
Lethemera hosts a massive array of marine species in its upper and mid‑ocean layers. However, the deepest zones — pitch‑black, high‑pressure regions formed by tectonic instability — remain unexplored. Many believe unknown life forms, possibly even sapient ones, dwell in the crushing darkness beneath the surface.
Status
No permanent settlements. Only temporary research stations operate here, and most are mobile or ocean‑based to avoid tectonic hazards.
Krysara
Type: Carbon giant
Atmosphere: Dense carbon‑rich gases; extreme compression zones
Native Life: None
Significance: Source of natural crystalline carbon; impossible to mine long‑term
Description
Krysara is a carbon giant orbiting at the farthest edge of the system, so distant from the twin suns that its surface temperature is nearly indistinguishable from deep space. The immense atmospheric pressure compresses airborne carbon into crystalline shards, creating glittering diamond storms that fall across the frozen terrain.
The planet’s surface is a dark, frigid wasteland of carbon ice, shattered crystal fields, and razor‑sharp mineral formations. Its slow orbit and extreme cold make it one of the most inhospitable worlds known.
Hazards
Diamond rain capable of shredding equipment
Temperatures near absolute zero
Machinery freezing within minutes
Power systems failing due to extreme cold
Atmospheric pressure fluctuations
Status
Several attempts have been made to mine Krysara’s diamonds, but long‑term visitation is impossible. Human life cannot be sustained for more than brief, high‑risk expeditions, and no permanent settlements exist.
